Description of Château Batailley, Grand Cru Classé (5ème) AOC Pauillac
Batailley is a fifth growth of the classification of 1855 and the family Castéja’s and Borie-Manoux’s flagship. The name is derived from a battle fought on this territory during the 100-years war in the 14th century. Batailley’s wine is an intensive Pauillac typically with blackcurrant and a robust body. Obtains very high rankings and recommendations at tastings by Decanter, The Wine Advocate and others.
Grape Variety: 70% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet-Francs
