Description of Château Bergat, Grand Cru Classé AOC Saint-Emilion
Grand Cru Classé Saint-Emilion of the classification of 1954. Château and vineyard spread over the Southern hillside of the sheltered valley with Saint-Emilion in its back. Through this privileged full southern exposure, the vines profit from the sun from dawn till dusk. The elevated soil favours a rapid maturity and the argilo-calcareous ground gives the wine a particularly fruity note. With its very high quality and small production Bergat enjoys a very high reputation, recommended by Decanter Dec 2004, awarded one star by Guide Hachette 2005.
