Description of Château Haut-Madrac, Cru Bourgeois, AOC Haut-Médoc
The estate lies in the community of Saint-Saveur in Haut-Médoc, neighbour to Pauillac. Haut-Madrac’s vineyards lie just behind Château Lynch-Moussas where its grapes are vinified. Haut-Madrac has a beautiful ruby-violet colour and the red berry bouquet opens scents of red and black fruits. Red berries and harmonious tannins. Grape Variety: 25% Merlot, 75% Cabernet-Sauvignon Total area: 20 ha Vineyard area: 20 ha Soil: Gravely Annual production: 100 000 bottles Average age of the vines: 30 years Fermentation: 14-18 days Ageing: 12-16 months in oak barrels Percentage of new barrels: 25% annually
